Now in Spanish

NASSCO translates its Jetter Code of Practice Manual, a guide for selecting and operating waterjet equipment and selecting nozzles to fit the application

I’m pleased to announce the first NASSCO publication in Spanish: the Jetter Code of Practice Manual. The time is right. I have people tell me all the time how valuable the English version of this manual has been.

It takes significant knowledge to operate jetters effectively and to avoid blown toilets and bodily injuries. From what I hear, this manual has led to many effective cleaning operations, and I’m confident this new Spanish version will mean even more success stories.

Before the manual was published in 2006, jetter operators and cleaning crews relied on two sources — equipment manufacturers and in-house training — to teach people how to use jetters. The Jetter Code of Practice Manual has become one of the leading publications in the pipe cleaning business.

Now in its second edition, the manual provides a guideline for the safe and efficient use of sewer cleaning and jetting equipment. Combined with the company-based classroom or online training, it provides a comprehensive understanding of cleaning techniques, equipment selection, and general sewer and stormwater operational improvements.

Like the original 58-page English version, the Spanish manual is divided into 10 sections. It includes descriptions of all the nozzles, hoses, cutters and other equipment used in jetting, and extensive information about using the equipment effectively and safely in a wide range of applications.

NASSCO is committed to providing guidelines and specifications for various processes and equipment for all professionals in the trenchless industry. The Jetter Code of Practice Manual was written by industry professionals like Barry Howell, general manager of Visu-Sewer Mississippi; Brad Dutruch of Compliance EnviroSystems and NASSCO president; and Gerry Muenchmeyer, P.E., NASSCO technical director. It was also reviewed by a peer group.

I invite anyone in the pipe cleaning business to invest in this manual. The price is right, and you and your staff are worth it. If you already have a copy, I’d love to hear about how it has helped you and your colleagues. The Jetter Code of Practice Manual in Spanish can be purchased at www.nassco.org at $50 for NASSCO members and $100 for nonmembers.
