Rain for Rent partners with MobyDick

Rain for Rent, provider of temporary liquid handling systems, has partnered with MobyDick, provider of wheel wash and truck cleaning systems, including the Conline drive-thru that can remove dirt, mud and debris from up to 300 trucks a day.

Tri-Cities North Regional Wastewater Authority purchases sewer scanner

Tri-Cities North Regional Wastewater Authority, Dayton, Ohio, purchased Electro Scan’s ES-620 for Sewer Mains to evaluate 6- to 20-inch-diameter pipes, target areas in need of repair and certify ongoing lining projects as leak free.

Sauereisen names research manager, office staff

Sauereisen promoted Greg Maloney to research manager, overseeing the company’s C. Fred Sauereisen Laboratory. It also promoted several members of the office staff. Kim Galley was named finance administrator and Vicki Abell was promoted to billing, credit and collections administrator. Pam Semgo joined the accounting department as financial assistant to the controller and Patti Kenzie joined the company as executive assistant and human resource generalist.

FreeWave celebrates grand opening of new headquarters

FreeWave Technologies celebrated the grand opening of its new corporate headquarters in Boulder, Colo. The 45,000-square-foot facility — 80 percent larger than its previous building — includes increased manufacturing space and product testing center.

BDS Technologies expands management team

BDS Technologies named Thelma Flores, P.E., vice president. She will oversee engineering operations of the Dallas and Fort Worth offices. Flores has 30 years of development, design and management experience.

SOR Inc. founder Dunlap passes away

Roy Dunlap, founder of SOR Inc., passed away at age 90. Starting with $2,000 and one employee, Dunlop opened a machine shop in 1946 and in 1956 leveraged static-o-ring technology to invent a mechanical pressure switch that helped prevent the overfilling of oil tanks. Dunlap remained involved in the business and on the board of directors until his passing in April. His daughter, Linda Dunlap, assumed the role of chairman of the board in 2010.

Brown and Caldwell promotes senior managers

Brown and Caldwell promoted Jay Patil, P.E., to director of client services and Cindy Paulson, Ph.D., to director of technical services. Marc Damikolas, P.E., was promoted to senior vice president and business unit manager for the California region, replacing Patil. Robert Ash, P.E., was promoted to senior vice president and the new role of enterprise risk management. Jeffrey Theerman, P.E., was promoted to lead the newly combined utility performance, operations and maintenance, and information technology group.

LMK names managing director, northeast sales

LMK Technologies named David Archard managing director, northeast sales. He has 30 years experience in the municipal public works sector, assisting municipalities in managing and optimizing assets, with a focus on underground asset management/optimization projects.

ePIPE receives innovation awards

ACE DuraFlo Systems’ ePIPE placed second in the Selected Products category at the Construmat Fair for innovation and sustainability in Barcelona, Spain. ePIPE also was named a winner in the Best Innovation Implemented or Applied by a Contractor category at the UK Energy Innovation Awards in Manchester, UK.

Itron joins Smart Cities Movement

Itron joined global leaders Cisco, IBM, GE, Microsoft and AT&T as a founding member of the Smart Cities Council. The group is dedicated to creating smart, sustainable cities with high-quality living and high-quality jobs. It will develop targeted resources for core city departments and functions, including environment, economic development, energy, health and human services, public safety and security, transportation, waste, water and wastewater.

Vivax-Metrotech affiliate receives CivEnEx show awards

Vivax-Metrotech’s Australian affiliate, Vivax-MetrotechAUS, received the Best Indoor Stand and Most Innovative New Product award for its vCam-5 inspection camera system at the CivEnEx show in Sydney, Australia.
