Charles Firlotte, president and CEO of Aquarion Company, has been named president of the National Association of Water Companies board of directors. Also named to the board were Sandra C. Sullivan, vice president of government and industry relations for Veolia Water North America; and Maureen P. Westbrook, vice president of customer and regulatory affairs for Connecticut Water Company.

Dr. Jaehong Kim of the Georgia Institute of Technology received the Paul L. Busch Award from the Water Environment Research Foundation’s Endowment for Innovation in Applied Water Quality Research.

The American Public Works Association announced that Larry T. Koehle, director of public works and engineering for Caledon, Ontario, is the new president of the board of directors. Re-elected as APWA board members were Edward Gottko, David L. Lawry, Larry Stevens, Doug Drever and Patricia Hilderbrand. New board members are Daryl Grigsby and Ronald J. Calkins.
