Premier Oilfield Equipment has announced its new URBAN X hydro and air excavator is now available for purchase after unveiling it at the Industrial Construction and Utility Equipment Show (ICUEE) in Louisville, Kentucky, in late September.

The new, advanced and industry-first URBAN X hydro and air excavator’s patent-pending technology offers greater safety, efficiency and productivity in sensitive construction and underground utility applications.

Fully integrated with a Cat CT660 chassis, sold and serviced via the participating Cat Dealer Network, the URBAN X is designed for digging in city settings or otherwise tight working conditions.

“The URBAN X is designed to easily maneuver in confined municipal locations or wherever movement might be more restricted,” says Ian Dickinson, CEO of Premier. “This very efficient digging machine is also designed for quieter operations and meets all weight regulations fully loaded when moving down the road.”

At the heart of the URBAN X’s digging efficiency is its patent-pending process utilizing both air or water, or a combination of both, to quickly and safely excavate and locate underground utilities and other assets. At the same time, a 2,400 cfm blower removes debris as fast as it’s excavated.

Customer input played a huge role in the development of the URBAN X. Dickinson further states “listening to expert excavation truck users led to the design and patent-pending features of this machine.”

In addition to its highly productive digging capability, the URBAN X provides expanded functionality including a self-contained power plant to support a variety of electrical, air and hydraulic tooling, including coring equipment. Water capacity of the URBAN X is 600 gallons with debris capacity of 6 yards.

“The inherent value and multiple capabilities of this machine are game changing, in addition to the bumper-to-bumper service and support offered by the participating CatDealer network,” says Dickinson.
