The P340+ flexiprobe pushrod video inspection range with built-in battery option from Pearpoint, an SPX brand, adds onboard lithium-ion battery power for a full day’s usage, enabling operators to set up and work remotely from a main power source. A push-button fuel gauge indicates remaining power, even with the controller switched off.

“The P340+ offers a combination of modularity, high-quality digital video and onboard battery power, making it the go-to system for downhole inspections,” says John Owsley, product manager for Pearpoint.

The weatherproof system features a choice of two stainless steel, high-resolution cameras capable of withstanding 159 psi, equivalent to working 980 feet under water. Cameras are available in 1- and 2-inch diameters with brush skid set for use in pipes up to 4 inches (1-inch camera) and 6 inches in diameter (2-inch camera). A selection of skids, brushes and accessories provide added capabilities. A range of sondes (built in on the plumbers system) can be used with a locator to pinpoint the camera’s position.

The controller, which can be connected to a PC, includes slots for USB flash drives and compact flash cards for video storage and data transfer. An 8 GB storage device holds up to seven hours of high-quality video and up to 20 pages of text. Audio can be added via the optional microphone headset.

“FlexiSight Manager [Microsoft compatible], the PC companion included with the P340+, enables operators to import, store and manage their videos, photos and observations, and then create comprehensive reports that can include pipe graphics, descriptions, color-coded defect grading and even their own company branding,” Owsley says.

Jobs are automatically organized by client, site and survey. The preinstalled reporting system can be used to fill out observations on site and produce sewer.dat files without plugging into a computer.

Weighing 12 pounds, the 14- by 14- by 8-inch controller has a temperature operating range of 14 to 122 degrees F and storage range of -4 to 176 degrees F. Other features include an ultra-bright 8-inch TFT screen, splash proof keyboard and polypropylene casing to resist scuffs and impacts. The seal provides an IP53 rating when operating and IP55 with the covers closed, minimizing the risk of damage from debris or water.

Pushrod reels include the 100-foot P341 plumbers reel (21 pounds, 22.4 by 16.6 by 10.6 inches) for commercial and residential applications, the P341 115-foot reel (24 pounds), P342 reel (200 and 400 feet, 40 and 55 pounds, 33.5 by 29.5 by 16.5 inches) and the P343 500-foot reel (81.6 pounds, 32 by 46 by 18.7 inches) for specialized plant and municipal applications. 800/688-8094; www.pearpoint.com.
