Boost efficiency by keeping better tabs on your assets

In today’s municipal economic climate, efficiency is key. Knowing where your vehicles and equipment are at all times can give you the power to make time- and money-saving decisions, keeping you on budget. That’s how US Fleet Tracking’s newest real-time fleet tracking solution can quickly prove its worth.

The AT-V4 GPS tracker is US Fleet Tracking’s newest 4G LTE GPS tracking device and the result of building on live GPS tracking and connectivity. With a simple and sleek design, the unit has configurable inputs and outputs, providing a device that best fits each user’s individual needs.

“This is a GPS unit that can actually speak with other types of vehicle systems, allowing them to virtually talk together,” says Sam Sims, director of public relations and marketing for US Fleet Tracking. “The options you can use this unit on are nearly limitless. All you need is an electronic signal.”

The AT-V4 provides fast connectivity, leveraging a 4G LTE cellular network for live tracking. It is ideal for large municipalities to track field assets such as vacuum and hydroexcavation trucks, sewer maintenance and camera inspection units and relining and other sewer construction crews. It provides live GPS tracking at one-, five- or 10-second intervals and is compatible with a web-based program for viewing results via desktop or mobile device.

“It really answers the question of what holds you back from growing, helping promote positive employee behavior modification,” Sims says. “If you can provide concrete results on how your fleet of equipment is being used, it typically makes employees more cognizant of their efficiency.”

The small unit measures 4.13 by 3.03 by 0.83 inches, making it ideal for covert installation in most vehicles. The electronics are housed in a rugged, water-resistant housing, with quality solid-state circuitry throughout. Multiple alert notifications can be sent via email or text message (including geofences and speed). Because the system is 100 percent web-based, there is no software to install, and results are accessible from anywhere with a cellular signal. The unit offers hassle-free three-wire installation (power, ground and ignition) and is configurable with up to three inputs and up to two outputs.

“It’s all about operating your fleet efficiently,” Sims says. “We’re talking about minor monthly behavior changes, but when you add them all up, it can save you thousands over the year.” 405-726-9900; www.usfleettracking.com.
