Manhole ChimneySeal No. F-88 from Sauereisen helps prevent water inflow and infiltration within the chimney section of manholes. It is an elastomeric lining composed of fiber-reinforced, asphalt-modified urethane that maintains elasticity and adhesion from –30 to 250 degrees F. Its flexible nature allows it to withstand the forces that frequently cause breaches in manhole chimneys. By sealing this particularly vulnerable section of the manhole, it is possible to avoid the penetration of groundwater that would otherwise be treated as sewage. After two components are mixed, the slurry is simply wiped onto the surface of the manhole by hand while wearing a glove.
