Serious kitchen drain stoppages at Southwest Medical Center menaced operations and sanitation. Worse, a parade of plumbers couldn’t cure the chronic quandary.

Enter Linn’s Plumbing LLC of Chandler, Oklahoma.

With a statewide reputation for outstanding service and professionalism, owner Larry Linn used trusted drain cleaning equipment from General Pipe Cleaners to spot – and solve – the true trouble.

Using one of his Gen-Eye video pipe inspection systems, he first pinpointed the problem: a broken cast iron pipe. “Six other competitors just snaked debris around, never fixing the underlying mess.”

Then Linn cleared the line with a Speedrooter 92.

“Teaming the two tools confirmed our thoroughness and professionalism,” he says. “The construction supervisor was amazed at how quickly, and cleanly, we got that drain flowing.”

The camera system for quick problem spotting
Linn burned a DVD of the collapsed line with his built-in Gen-Eye DVD recorder. And that convinced Southwest Medical to replace, not repair, the kitchen conduit.

Even better, Linn’s experience and General Pipe Cleaners equipment efficiency let him substantially under-bid all his competitors, in one case by about half.

Gen-Eye systems offer plumbing and drain cleaning professionals everything necessary to troubleshoot 2- to 10-inch lines including:

  • On-screen distance counter
  • Date and time stamp
  • Voiceover unit
  • Built-in titler
  • AC/DC power option
  • Easy-to-use digital locator

Self-leveling color cameras automatically keep the picture upright, letting customers clearly follow the action. A Gel-Rod pushrod protects wiring from cuts and abrasion. Recording options include DVDs, SD cards or USB connection. And the new, easy-to-learn Hot-Spot pipe locator offers quick, accurate camera location in a rugged package – the industry’s highest rated for durability.

Drain cleaning power completes equipment mix
Great for long, tough jobs, the Speedrooter blends rugged reliability with optimal control and ease of use. “We have six for our four crews,” Linn says. “It’s great for one-man use.”

The field-proven machine features a braced frame at key stress points, drum design for longer bearing wear and Flexicore cable – the industry standard for toughness.

Heavy-duty Flexicore cable blends superior strength and kinking resistance with just the right flexibility. It carries the best warranty in the business – one-year protection against breakage.

In clearing the hospital drain, Linn’s Speedrooter retrieved a broken cable with a cutter head from a competitor who irresponsibly left it there. “That made blockages even worse,” Linn dryly notes.

Linn also likes General’s closed-drum design for medical and dental facilities. “Cleanliness is critical to those customers, and to our reputation.”

Permanent solution
Linn’s arsenal includes several Mini-Rooter and hand-held Power-Vee drain cleaners, for small jobs and tight, awkward spots like sinks, showers and laundries.

They teamed their General equipment to bring Southwest Medical Center’s drain job to a swift, successful conclusion. They promised completion in five days. And they did it in three.

That was three years ago. Linn’s hasn’t had to return to repair or maintain that line since.

“That’s how we got the maintenance contract worth several thousand dollars a month from Southwest Medical,” he concludes. “And a big chunk of the credit goes to our General equipment.”
