Protecting the source water in Kirksville, Missouri, is paramount fort the city’s Public Works department. Department director Glen Balliew says partnerships are key. “The state owns the parks system around the lake, but the city manages the lake. When you’re talking about stormwater and you’re talking about drinking source lakes, it’s an all-of-the-above approach to keep those as clean as possible so you have a good drinking source lake for the city.” Also in this online exclusive video, join lab technician Tim Reed as he tests samples of some of the city’s source water.
