Seeing pipe in all dimensions

CUES offers a floating inspection system with video, laser profiling, and sonar profiling

Video inspection provides an excellent view of a pipe's condition. But what if the pipe is full of water so that a camera can't see all of it? And what if you want to know more than just the visible defects? CUES Inc. now offers the FlyEye inspection and evaluation system. It includes a high-definition video camera, a laser profiler, and a sonar profiler, all mounted on a float that can be used for continuous inspections as long as 4,500 feet.

With this combination of technologies, it can collect and processes data on internal pipeline conditions including debris level, ovality, hydrogen sulfide erosion, lateral location, and damage. It does all this without requiring flow diversion, flow interruption, or manhole ring removal.

The sonar and laser profilers provide a true 360-degree report on conditions regardless of flow level. Digital reports with digital images provide a complete package to detect defect and rank their severity. The data can be used to establish a timely and economical rehabilitation solution. The laser profiler measures pipe dimensions with an accuracy of plus or minus 0.001 percent of pipe diameter. More information is available at www.cuesinc.com.
