Infrastructure + Get AlertsPerma-Liner recently welcomed distributors from Singapore, who visited for a week to learn about Perma-Liner trenchless technology. During their stay, they learned about cured-in-place technology by observing models in a warehouse as well as watching live demonstration in the field.
The Perma-Liner CIPP system is 100 percent trenchless, which means digging up floors, landscaping and tearing up walls is a thing of the past. With Perma-Liner CIPP, a project can be completed in less than one day versus several weeks with traditional dig methods.
Perma-Liner CIPP allows for 22-, 45- and sweeping 90-degree bends. With Perma-Liner, you can also reline vertical stacks with ease and start and stop anywhere in the line. When the pipelines are cleaned and free of debris, crews use a closed circuit camera to inspect the lateral, and then take measurements. The liner made of epoxy resin is then pulled into place in the pipe.
Using a rubber bladder and calibration tube, crews press the liner against the existing host, allowing the resin to bond and seal to the pipe. The Perma-Liner CIPP system relines any material, including clay, cast iron and PVC. The system has two liner options: Navi-Liner — a felt, PU coated, non-woven-needle punched felt — and Rigi-Liner — a 2 mm felt, PVC/TPU blend, nonwoven, needle-punched felt, stitched and tape seamed liner. Using two-part 100 percent solids epoxy, ambient cure time is three hours. The Perma-Liner Pull-In-Place system is ICC-approved and NSF Standard 14 certified. It nearly doubles the ASTM F1216 specification on the minimum design life of 50 years.
