Oxford Plastics Credits Code Approvals for 80% Market Growth

Oxford Plastics, a leading innovator and manufacturer of site safety equipment, recently announced it has achieved 80% year-on-year growth between April 1 and March 31 of this year.

The company attributes this to its strategic partnership with customers and its pursuit of code approval for its products at the Department of Transport level.

Over the past decade, Oxford Plastics has diligently laid the foundations for its LowPro Road Plates and Trench Cover business, working hand in hand with end users on street works and construction sites across the United States.

“The company's unwavering commitment to delivering superior quality products and exceptional customer service has enabled them to secure significant market share and drive impressive growth," says Peter Creighton, business development director for Oxford Plastics.

"We are delighted to see the remarkable growth we have achieved in the USA market. Our long-term strategy, investments and collaboration with customers have been instrumental in our success. We have sold the LowPro range for over 10 years in the USA, and our expansion efforts have been supported by a talented team of salespeople and dedicated support staff both in the USA and our home base in the UK. With this solid foundation in place, we have ambitious growth plans for 2023 and beyond."

Oxford Plastics' flagship product — the Oxford LowPro 15/10 Trench Cover — has played a crucial role in the company's success. The lightweight composite trench cover is used by pedestrians and 3.5-ton vehicles over a 900 millimeter excavation and is a good alternative to steel plates.

It has already been approved by the Department of Transport in the U.S. in New York City, Georgia, Portland, Las Vegas and Chicago, with utility companies Con Edison, National Grid, Peoples Gas, Pacific Gas & Electric and Atlanta Gas also approving it.

“The popularity of this product in the UK and USA is a testament to the superior quality and reliability of our product," says Creighton. We are confident that the LowPro 15/10 Trench Cover system will revolutionize the safety and efficiency of trench cover solutions across the country, providing a trusted and approved solution for construction and utility projects. We are committed to delivering innovative products that meet the highest standards of performance, and this approval is a significant milestone in our journey towards safer work sites and enhanced infrastructure in the
United States."

Earlier this year, the company's LowPro 23/05 Road Plate, designed and developed by Oxford Plastics, gained approval from New York authorities, as complying with the HS20-44 code established by AASHTO. Approved by the New York Department of Transport, the Oxford LowPro 23/05 Road Plate offers a solution to noise pollution caused by traditional steel plates used in urban areas.
