In this online exclusive video filmed at the Water & Wastewater Equipment, Treatment & Transport (WWETT) Show, Amanda Keiber of Oatey Co. talks about the precision manufacturing process behind Cherne Industries’ Muni Ball plug.

Keiber says in the video that Cherne is one of a number of companies under the umbrella of Oatey Co. “Cherne has been around for more than 50 years,” she says. “We are a leader when it comes to pipe plugs and testing. But when it comes to Oatey, a lot of people don’t realize that we do have that group of companies underneath us.”

Showing viewers the robotically manufactured plug, Keiber says the process is all about quality and consistency. “And with the robotic manufacturing process, we are able to make sure that every single plug that we deliver is the exact same, and you’re really reducing human error.”

The company also tests every plug that leaves its facility to ensure its safety and functionality.
