For Grayson Bierling, a service technician at Holland Board of Public Works in Michigan, locating buried infrastructure can mean probing for curb box tops or establishing a ground for electromagnetic locating equipment.
Dry, compacted soil can make that work difficult. Bierling uses the Mighty Probe from T&T Tools to penetrate hard surface conditions and reach deeper into the soil when needed.
“The length of it helps a lot,” Bierling says. “If the ground is really hard on top, we can’t locate. With the Mighty Probe, we can go a lot deeper, so that helps a lot.”
The probe also provides tactile feedback that helps Bierling interpret what he encounters underground.
