Dr. Kimberlie Staheli was honored Tuesday with one of the most prestigious recognitions in the trenchless technology industry — induction into the NASTT Hall of Fame at the 2025 No-Dig Show in Denver.

Dr. Staheli is the first woman to be inducted into the Hall of Fame since its inception in 2013.

“I am so honored by this and I thank all of the people, the friends that I see in the audience, the people I have worked with, especially my staff, because they are just fantastic people,” Dr. Staheli said during the awards ceremony.

As the president and principal engineer of Staheli Trenchless Consultants, Dr. Staheli has spent decades shaping the future of trenchless engineering, demonstrating technical expertise, leadership, and an unwavering commitment to innovation.

Dr. Staheli’s journey in engineering began in 1992 when she earned her bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. Soon after, she embarked on her career in the trenchless industry at Hydro Group, Inc. in Columbus, Ohio. It was here that she gained invaluable hands-on experience with a groundbreaking technology in the United States — microtunneling. At a time when trenchless solutions were still emerging, Dr. Staheli quickly became immersed in the complexities of this innovative method, helping to advance its application in the field.

As her career progressed, Dr. Staheli continued to push the boundaries of trenchless engineering. Her technical expertise and problem-solving abilities propelled her into leadership roles, eventually leading her to establish Staheli Trenchless Consultants. Under her guidance, the firm has become a respected name in the industry, providing solutions for trenchless projects across North America.

Through her work, she has not only helped advance engineering practices but also mentored countless professionals, ensuring the continued evolution of the field.

Dr. Staheli’s influence extends beyond her own company. Over the years, she has been an active contributor to NASTT, sharing her insights through presentations, research, and technical publications. Her commitment to education and knowledge-sharing has made her a trusted voice in the industry, and her efforts have played a significant role in shaping best practices for trenchless engineering.

She initiated the scholarship program ensuring water and wastewater utility owners are able to send their employees to the No-Dig Show each year.

Earning a place in the NASTT Hall of Fame is a testament to Dr. Staheli’s remarkable contributions to the trenchless technology sector. Her work has not only pushed the industry forward but has also demonstrated the power of engineering ingenuity in solving complex infrastructure challenges. As she accepted her induction at the NASTT No-Dig Show, her peers recognized her as a pioneer, a mentor, and a leader whose impact will be felt for generations to come.

With this well-deserved honor, Dr. Kimberlie Staheli cements her legacy as one of the most influential figures in trenchless technology. Her dedication to advancing the industry and fostering the next generation of engineers ensures that her contributions will continue to shape the future of trenchless engineering for years to come.
