In today’s market, the demand for non-CDL equipment has reached a critical point. As municipalities and private contractors grapple with a nationwide shortage of CDL-certified drivers, the ability to put a qualified operator behind the wheel without the hurdles of specialized licensing is a game changer for fleet ROI.
The GapVax MC Lite was developed as a direct response to this feedback from customers and dealers alike. By staying under the CDL weight threshold, the MC Lite lowers the barrier to entry for new operators, reduces insurance complexities, and ensures essential maintenance and emergency response tasks aren’t sidelined by a lack of specialized personnel.
Compact profile, uncompromising power
While the MC Lite is designed for accessibility, it does not compromise on the “GapVax Tough” performance the industry expects. The unit is packed with high-tier specifications, including:
- A front-mounted hose reel featuring 600 feet of 3/4-inch hose, hydraulic extension and 180-degree articulation;
- Front-mounted controls that keep the operator in the safest, most visible position during the job;
- 40 gpm at 3,000 psi triplex water pump;
- 600-gallon poly water tank with aluminum upgrade option;
- 3-cubic-yard debris tank;
- 2,500 cfm, 18-inch hydraulically driven vacuum pump; and
- 6-inch telescoping boom that extends to 20 feet, offering 180° of rotation on each side.
Thoughtful engineering and storage
Beyond the vacuum specs, the MC Lite serves as a versatile mobile workstation. It offers an optional hydroexcavation system with a 100-foot hose reel, allowing for a seamless transition between jetting and vacuum-excavation tasks.
Storage includes versatile shelving and toolboxes on both sides of the unit. These compartments provide organized space for nozzles, tools and washdown equipment, ensuring everything has a place. The MC Lite features a full-opening rear door and offers an optional pump-off system.
“The MC Lite has been a long time coming,” says Matt Hughes, the company’s senior vice president. “Our customers needed a unit that could be operated by a wider range of their staff without sacrificing the performance needed to get the job done.”
