California Water Service (Cal Water) has been named one of the "Top Workplaces in the Bay Area" by the Bay Area News Group. It marks the fourth year in a row the utility received the honor.

Cal Water is a regulated water utility with 359 employees that serve more than 1.9 million people through 477,900 customer connections statewide.

"We are committed to providing our customers with quality, service, and value," President and CEO Martin A. Kropelnicki said in a written statement. "We recognize the best way to do so is by making sure we have the best employees in our industry.

"To do that, we maintain an environment that encourages personal growth, allows for career advancements, promotes longevity, and creates an environment where every employee is important. Our business is about service, and excellent service starts with great employees."

The rankings in the "Top Workplaces" are based on survey information collected and analyzed by an independent research company specializing in employee engagement and retention. The survey asks employees how they feel about company leadership, compensation and training, diversity/inclusion, career development, family-friendly flexibility, and values and ethics.

California Water Service Group is the parent company of California Water Service, Washington Water Service Company, New Mexico Water Service Company, Hawaii Water Service Company, Inc., CWS Utility Services, and HWS Utility Services, LLC.

Together these companies employ 1,105 people who provide regulated and non-regulated water service to approximately 2 million people in more than 100 California, Washington, New Mexico, and Hawaii communities.
