If your utility could use some inspiration on how to communicate messages to the public, check out the Albuquerque Bernalillo County (New Mexico) Water Utility Authority’s latest ad campaign.

The authority is using a mascot named Chuckie the Elephant to remind people in Albuquerque what not to flush into city sewers. In the past, Chuckie has also provided instructions on the finer points of grease disposal and water conservation, and the authority has been recognized by the National Association of Clean Water Agencies for the campaign. The new spot is running on TV, radio and billboards.
