Conference in Minneapolis June 8-10 focuses on healthy communities

The American Public Works Association will conduct the Sustainability in Public Works conference June 8-10 at the Hilton Minneapolis. The conference is designed to give attendees tools and skills to use sustainability principles in maintaining vibrant and healthy communities. Education programs and highlights Include:

* How to turn obstacles into opportunities for sustainability

* Climate change adaptation strategies and public works infrastructure

* Using low-impact development to combat the impacts of urbanization

* Micro-workshop: Setting a sustainability strategy

* Floodplain Sustainability: The confluence of risk, property rights and land use
