- The Federal Emergency Management Agency awarded the city of Pooler (Georgia) a $1.9 million grant to develop a stormwater master plan. The funds were provided through the Hazard Mitigation Grant Program.
- Ten members of the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection received Governor’s Awards for Excellence. Shelby Reisinger, Kevin White, David Goerman, Michael Luciani, Shane Kleiner, Christina Dee Fesler, Natahnee Shrawder Miller, Rebecca Albert, Kathryn Anne Beats and Bruce Eric Naylor were recognized for their collaborative work on two Lancaster County projects: the Blue Green Connector and the Cocalico Creek Watershed Project. Each project addresses several topics including flood resiliency and stormwater management.
- The Lawton (Oklahoma) City Council presented Brandon Perdieu with its True North Award. Brandon serves as Principal Equipment Operator in the Stormwater Division of Public Works. The True North Award recognizes city employees whose actions exemplify the city’s values and commitment to service.
The township of Hillsborough (New Jersey) received a $2,000 Sustainable Jersey Grant, funded by the PSEG Foundation, to support a study of potential green infrastructure projects at Willow Road. The site features a detention basin easement designed to capture stormwater.
