A new way to design stormwater detention systems

Advanced Drainage Systems offers a web-based software program

A new online program for designing storm water retention/detention systems is available from Advanced Drainage Systems (ADS). Accessed on the company's website, www.ads-pipe.com, ADS Design Pro helps engineers determine the proper components and layout the design. The program contains all the technical resources for creating a corrugated high-density polyethylene (HDPE) pipe project that can be shared with others and saved for future reference.

"We developed Design Pro as a part of our continuing effort to support the engineering community," says Ron Vitarelli, vice president of storm and sanitary sewer market development. "It intuitively and graphically allows an engineer to design a retention/detention system and generates the drawings, specifications and installation requirements."

All information is stored in the on-line data base so the plan can be revised as needed. The software can save labor because a saved project can be modified for a future, similar project. A simple registration process provides access to the site, and the user selects a secure password.
