Advanced dewatering technology engineered for wastewater sludge – and designed for simple day-to-day operation.

Sludge dewatering has a direct impact on wastewater treatment plant operating costs, particularly through energy use, maintenance, labor, and sludge transportation and disposal.

Multi-disc screw presses were developed specifically for the continuous dewatering of municipal and industrial wastewater sludge. Their advantages are based on a fundamentally unique operating principle – not simply on the use of a screw.

This webinar will clearly explain the technology behind multi-disc screw presses and how precision engineering makes sludge dewatering reliable, efficient, and easy to operate. Participants will learn:

  • what distinguishes a multi-disc screw press from a conventional screw press;
  • which technological advances make continuous, self-cleaning sludge dewatering possible;
  • how the low-speed screw, moving-ring filtration system, progressive compression, and automated controls work together;
  • why the technology can be more reliable and require less maintenance than high-speed centrifuges;
  • why it is generally simpler to operate, clean, automate, and maintain than belt filter presses;
  • how low energy demand, limited wash-water use, simplified maintenance, and reduced operator attention contribute to lower lifecycle costs;
  • which sludge properties and operating parameters determine capacity, solids capture, polymer consumption, and cake dryness;
  • how to properly select and operate a multi-disc screw press and avoid common design and operational mistakes.

Practical examples from municipal and industrial wastewater treatment plants will demonstrate how a technology purpose-built for wastewater sludge can provide a strong combination of reliability, dewatering efficiency, operational simplicity, and cost-effectiveness.
