Hach introduces spectrophotometer with step-by-step testing

Device walks users through test steps the way a GPS gives travel directions

The DR3900 spectrophotometer from Hach Co. is designed to provide consistently accurate water testing results in a simple testing format. Designed for wastewater, water and other applications, the system guides user step-by-step through the testing process in a manner similar to the way a GPS gives travel directions.

To help eliminate false readings from scratched, flawed, or dirty glassware, the device rotates the sample tube, takes 10 readings, and rejects outliers. RFID technology automatically updates the program calibration factors when a TNTplus box is placed near the machine. The system can perform can perform more than 35 tests, including common EPA parameters such as ammonia, COD, chlorine, chromium, iron, nitrate, nitrite, nitrogen, phosphorus and sulfate.

Built with one LAN and three USB ports, the device easily connects with computer and is programmed to interface with a Hach Water Information Management System (WIMS) or Laboratory Information Management System. Sample bottles with smart tags can be easily tracked with the RFID sample-ID system, eliminating sample mix-ups and improving sample traceability. Visit www.hach.com.
