People/AwardsThe Southwestern NC Resource Conservation and Development Council was awarded $30,000 from the Pigeon River Fund of the Community Foundation of Western North Carolina to complete a stormwater assessment and retrofit plan for the Maggie Valley commercial area to improve the water quality of Campbell and Jonathan creeks.Northbrook’s $5 million stormwater update was named a 2013 Project of the Year by the Suburban Branch of the American Public Works Association’s Chicago Metro Chapter.The American Public Works Association announced that the following public works agencies received 2014 National Excellence in Snow and Ice Control Awards:
