New CEO for El Paso Water Utilities

According to the online El Paso Times, John E. Balliew has been named the new El Paso Water Utilities CEO. Balliew will replace Ed Archuleta who served as CEO for more than 20 years. 

Balliew said, “I believe I will bring continuity and innovation.” He started as a lab technician 30 years ago, and is currently the utility’s vice president of operations and technical services. 

Balliew is an El Paso native, and a licensed professional engineer. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering from Texas A&M University. He and wife Elsa have three children. 

The transition will take effect in January 2013.
