Hawkins Inc. (Nasdaq: HWKN) announced that it has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire substantially all the assets of The Dumont Company Inc., a water treatment chemical distribution company with seven facilities across the State of Florida.

This acquisition significantly expands our Water Treatment Group’s geographic footprint to now cover the state of Florida and is part of our continued efforts to grow our Water Treatment Group’s business. We are delighted to be able to work with Dumont’s outstanding employees to grow the business as we bring Hawkins’ broader product offering to Dumont’s current customers.”

Dumont had revenues of about $14 million in 2013. The acquired assets will become part of the company’s water treatment segment.

The transaction is subject to customary closing conditions and is expected to close in the coming weeks.
