The Minnesota Utility Contractors Association (MUCA) is set to host its annual meeting on Thursday, Nov. 10, at the Mystic Lake Hotel in Prior Lake, Minnesota.

MUCA members and non-members alike are welcome to attend the meeting, which runs from 4 to 8 p.m., to connect with established figures in the utility contractor industry, including but not limited to people who specialize in:

  • gas distribution
  • excavation and site work
  • hazardous waste removal
  • water and sewer pipeline construction
  • phone, cable or electric installation
  • fiber optics installation

MUCA actively provides its membership with safety training, certifications, and continuing education to ensure the utility contractor workforce is prepared for the future of the industry.

Highlighting the meeting will be a keynote speech from John Sweeney, who will give his presentation “Inspiring Innovation at the Speed of Laughter,” an address that utilizes both improvisational comedy and a cunning business acumen. Sweeney brings the audience to understand, appreciate, learn and practice an improv-based mindset that helps them live and work better.

“2016 has been an incredibly productive year for our association,” says Stephanie Menning, executive director for MUCA. “We look forward to providing our members with a full breakdown of all of our successes as well as preparing them for what is coming in 2017.”
