Teledyne Cable Solutions receives Dallas Water Utilities Blue Thumb Award 
Teledyne Cable Solutions, a part of Teledyne Interconnect Solutions, was the recipient of the 2022-2023 and 2023-2024 Dallas Water Utilities Blue Thumb Award from the City of Dallas. The award recognizes organizations that meet all local and federal pretreatment requirements in reporting and monitoring. TCS received the award for staying within categorical discharge limitations. John Condon, EHS manager, and Ted Fidler, maintenance mechanic, received the award on behalf of TCS at a ceremony in November.

Epoxytec celebrates third anniversary since acquisition
Epoxytec is celebrating its third anniversary since being acquired by Tnemec Company in October 2021. This milestone comes as Tnemec reports robust growth in 2024. Headquartered in Hollywood, Florida, the company looks forward with plans to upgrade its operations with advanced equipment while continuing to attract talent.

Advanced Drainage Systems hosts grand opening for Ohio center
Advanced Drainage Systems celebrated the opening of the $65 million ADS Engineering and Technology Center. The 110,000-square-foot research and testing facility is located in Hilliard, Ohio, near the company’s headquarters. The center includes a product development lab focused on the full range of a product’s life cycle and a 90,000-gallon, closed-loop recyclable water system to replicate real-world conditions.

With his leadership, the company plans to continue to provide reliable products and exceptional service, along with exciting new developments on the horizon.

SJE acquires Revere Control Systems
SJE has acquired Revere Control Systems. Founded in 1980, Revere has grown to become a full-service system integrator of control solutions across design, engineering, networking and programming with expertise in municipal water and industrial automation. Based in Birmingham, Alabama, Revere has additional locations in Florida, Texas and North Carolina. Revere represents SJE’s fifth acquisition since 2021 and second this year. SJE previously acquired ICON Technologies, an integrator of variable frequency drive control systems for the water and wastewater market based in Tampa Bay, Florida.

Garney partners with RodRadar
Garney announced a strategic partnership with RodRadar, a technology company specializing in real-time underground utility detection during excavation. This collaboration advances excavation safety, efficiency and utility strike prevention through RodRadar’s innovative Live Dig Radar technology. The LDR system integrates real-time radar technology into excavator digging buckets, enabling continuous detection of underground utilities across various soil types while excavating. The system generates immediate visual alerts in the excavator cabin, enabling operators to avoid hidden utilities and significantly reduce the risk of strikes.

Felling Trailer holds annual auction to benefit Backing the Blue Line
Felling Trailers conducted its 12th annual online auction of an FT-3 drop deck utility trailer to benefit a nonprofit organization: Backing the Blue Line. Backing the Blue Line assists fallen officers and their families through various programs and support services. The winning bid of $6,650 was from Joe Welch of Caledonia, Minnesota. Welch, a construction and farm equipment dealer, has followed Felling Trailers’ Trailer for a Cause auctions for several years and also had the winning bid at the 2022 auction that benefitted Eagle’s Healing Nest.

Phase II of Broad Channel Project completed in Queens, New York
The NYC Department of Environmental Protection, the NYC Department of Transportation and the NYC Department of Design and Construction announced the completion of a $51 million infrastructure project that raised streets, installed new storm sewers and reconstructed bulkheads in Broad Channel, Queens. The project, which DDC managed for DEP and DOT, was completed on schedule and $4 million under budget. 
The neighborhood is surrounded by Jamaica Bay and is one of the lowest-lying areas in the city, susceptible to storms and regular tidal flooding. In August 2020 the city completed phase one, a similar project, at a cost of $46 million.

ITpipes receives Solution Alignment Award
ITpipes received the Solution Alignment award at the 2024 Esri Infrastructure Management and GIS Conference held in Palm Springs, California in October. The award highlights ITpipes’ commitment to providing advanced tools for managing infrastructure assets. Clients such as the city of Loveland, Colorado, San Antonio Water System and the city of Tuscaloosa, Alabama, have seen improvements in workflows, with enhanced data automation and real-time mapping, thanks to ITpipes’ integration with Esri.

Panel discussion to be held at the WWETT show in Indianapolis
“Join the Revolution in Pipeline Rehabilitation,” a panel discussion on UV-GRP CIPP technology, will be held on Feb. 18 from 4 to 5 pm at the Indianapolis Convention Center, Room 124, as part of the 2025 WWETT show. Attendees of the one-hour discussion will discover how UV-GRP CIPP offers faster, durable and sustainable pipeline repairs with reduced disruption, lower environmental impact and longer-lasting results. Moderated by Suzan Chin-Taylor, the panel will feature experts including a municipal utility leader, sewer service contractor, consulting engineer and UV-GRP developer.
