Pipe Fusion
McElroy TracStar 412i
The TracStar 412i from McElroy is designed to fuse pipe sizes from 4 to 12 inches. It incorporates the FusionGuide Control system seen on other TracStar iSeries models, providing operators with three levels of control during the fusion process. Each level has varying degrees of assistance, from manual control to fully automatic fusion. An indexer keeps the heater and facer attached to the four-jaw carriage, condensing the heater, facer and jaws into a single unit. It includes a new, larger-volume hydraulic tank secured beneath the machine’s dome. In addition to providing additional cooling, the new design also reduces the risk of accidentally adding the wrong fluid to the hydraulic tank. It is controlled via the DataLogger, a ruggedized tablet that records fusion parameters and other pertinent data during the fusion process. 918-831-9236; www.mcelroy.com
Pipe Parts, Fittings and Components
Reed Manufacturing Guillotine Pipe Cutters
Guillotine Pipe Cutters from Reed are designed to cut PE pipe within 1/8 inch of square on medium and high-density pipe. Manual guillotine-style cutter slices smoothly through polyethylene. Three models cover from 1 1/2- to 12-inch pipe diameters. Accurate cuts mean no facing is needed for electrofusion and only minimal facing for butt fusion joints. These tools leave a super smooth cut surface. A durable, nonstick coated blade makes many square cuts with no chips to clog valves and small openings. A slight taper on the blade allows an easy start to the cut and holds form for a nice, straight cut. Blades are easy to sharpen or replace. 814-452-3691; www.reedmfgco.com

Cat Pumps Spline Shaft Pumps
Cat Pumps offers direct-mount flange and hollow-spline shaft pumps to address the challenges of limited space and allow pairing with compact SAE hydraulic motors. The Model 2565T13 achieves flows to 20 gpm at pressures up to 3,000 psi and pairs to an SAE B hydraulic motor with a 13-tooth spline shaft. This reduces the width of the pump by over 7 1/2 inches compared to the standard bell housing configuration. Models 3560T14 and 3560RST14 pair with SAE C hydraulic motors with a 14-tooth spline shaft and can pump 20 gpm up to 4,000 psi or 25 gpm up to 3,000 psi. These models significantly decrease the overall pump and bell housing width by more than 8 inches and permit the motor to be mounted on either side. Equipment builders can add an optional electronic rpm speed sensor to ensure accurate, consistent pump operation. 763-780-5440; www.catpumps.com

Duperon Dual Auger System
Serving as an alternative to grinders and chopper pumps in the collections system and plant headworks, the Duperon Dual Auger System is comprised of two vertical, electrically driven, counter-rotating augers that catch, dewater, compact and remove rags, wipes and other debris from the waste stream. Each unit offers a brushless 0.71-inch bar screen that passes organics and conveys compacted nondissolvable debris to a discharge extension chute for disposal as well as a built-in-bypass to avoid the risk of sewer backups during power outages. Utilities save time and money by eliminating the manual cleaning of clogged pumps and the use of maintenance-intensive grinders that send debris downstream only to reweave and become problematic again. The compact, fully submersible unit can be installed in a wet well or manhole as small as 17 inches. 800-383-8479; www.duperon.com

SEEPEX BNM Pump Range
With large progressive cavity pumps, inspection and maintenance can be challenging, requiring special tools, dismantling pipework and even moving the pump to a workshop for easier access. The BNM Pump Range from SEEPEX provides a solution for maintenance on large and multistage progressive cavity pumps. A sliding housing element allows access to the rotor-side joint area. The rotor and stator can be removed and maintained as a single unit without splitting the coupling rod or disturbing the rotor-side joint. The design also allows access to the drive-side joint. By removing just four bolts, the drive can be removed, making maintenance of the shaft seal quick. With a simple wrench, the rotating unit can be removed, while the pipework remains in place. The solution facilitates maintenance work and reduces downtime, saves costs and increases operational reliability and the service life of the pump. 937-864-7150; www.seepex.com
