Vermeer names Andringa president, CEO
Jason Andringa assumed the role of president and CEO at Vermeer effective Nov. 1. The announcement was first made in August as part of the company’s family succession planning process. Andringa previously served as president and COO, in addition to a number of other roles since joining the company in 2005.

McElroy adds new distributor in Louisiana
McElroy Manufacturing has announced the addition of a new distributor, Industrial Municipal Supply Co. of Geismar, Louisiana, to service pipe fusion machine customers throughout the state. IMSCO has 40 years of experience in custom fusion service, on-site fabrication and maintenance on McElroy machines in addition to being a supplier of HDPE pipe, valves and fittings.

OCV Control Valves boasts most comprehensive listing in industry
OCV Control Valves LLC now has the most comprehensive NSF/ANSI 61-G listing in the control valve industry, certified through NSF International. OCV’s control valve product line maintains its previous NSF/ANSI 372 listing for all control valves in addition to adding the NSF/ANSI 61-G listing for virtually all models in sizes 4 inches to 24 inches.

Vanair announces expansion
Vanair Manufacturing announced the acquisition of an 80,000-square-foot manufacturing facility in Michigan City, Indiana, to accommodate increased growth and future expansion. The acquisition brings the company’s total production and office space to over 160,000 square feet. The new space will provide capacity for increased manufacturing, training, support, service and leadership functions across the company.

Applied Material Solutions acquires two subsidiaries
Applied Material Solutions has announced that the company has purchased Performance Process Inc. in Mundelein, Illinois, and Nottingham Company, PPI’s chemical’s division, in Atlanta, Georgia. These two companies join Trans-Chemco as divisions of Applied Material Solutions.

CDM Smith receives groundwater protection award
CDM Smith received an Outstanding Groundwater Project Award from the National Ground Water Association for outstanding science, engineering, or innovation in the area of protecting groundwater. The award will be presented at the 2015 Groundwater Expo, Dec. 15-17, in Las Vegas, Nevada.

WSSC approves infrastructure repair solutions from LMK Technologies
The Washington Suburban Sanitary Commission, one of the largest water and wastewater utilities in the United States, has approved two infrastructure repair solutions from LMK Technologies — the Insignia End Seal Sleeve and the LMT (Lined Main Tap) Saddle — for use in sewer systems in Maryland’s Montgomery and Prince George’s counties.

Ditch Witch annual international customer event draws largest attendance
Ditch Witch, a Charles Machine Works Company, hosted its annual international customer event at the Ditch Witch Barcelona Support Center on Oct. 23. The event set a record with nearly 300 customers and staff from more than 20 countries.

Allstate Power-Vac announces new equity investor
Allstate Power-Vac announced Nov. 2 that the company has finalized a strategic partnership with Kinderhook Industries and its affiliates. As a result of the partnership, Kinderhook, a private equity firm based in New York, has completed a significant equity investment in APV. The partnership will provide APV with access to new capital.

Veolia forms partnership with Greentown Labs
Veolia North America, the company providing district energy to the Boston area, announced that it has become a Terawatt Sponsor of Greentown Labs, the nation’s largest cleantech incubator, based in Somerville, Massachusetts. Working with Veolia will enable entrepreneurs at Greentown Labs to access the experience, advice and network of professionals at the world’s largest environmental services and technology company to help them solve some of the world’s biggest energy and environmental challenges.

Aqua-Aerobic Systems and METAWATER announce merger
Aqua-Aerobic Systems Inc., based in Loves, Park, Illinois, and METAWATER Co. Ltd. of Tokyo, Japan, have announced a merger agreement. The merger will place Aqua-Aerobic Systems, including its subsidiary Mecana Umwelttechnik (Reichenburg, Switzerland), under METAWATER USA, the company’s U.S. subsidiary with current operations in Rutherford, New Jersey.

Hanson Building Products announces company name change
Hanson Building Products has changed its name to Forterra following the recent sale of the company. The company will continue to operate its five U.S. and Canadian divisions as well as its building products division in the United Kingdom. Plans are to continue production of all existing product lines through its more than 130 facilities.

BASF signs exclusive distribution agreement with Pochteca
BASF Corporation signed an exclusive agreement with Pochtega, a Mexican-based raw materials supplier, for the distribution of its Water Solutions portfolio throughout Mexico and Central America. Product lines included in the agreement are Zetag, Magnafloc LT, Burst, Magnasol and Antprex brands.

Trelleborg Pipe Seals expands operations in Lithuania
Trelleborg’s pipe seals operation has recently integrated additional pipe liner production capabilities at its manufacturing facility in Taurage, Lithuania. The new technology was obtained from TWE/Trelit along with its customer base. The new manufacturing line is expected to commence production in November and will see a new product added to the company’s pipe liner portfolio, the Drainliner PP.

Alcara to acquire GE Grid Solutions’ electricity meters business
Aclara has announced that its affiliate has signed an agreement to acquire the electricity meters business currently operating within GE Energy Management’s Grid Solutions subdivision, also know as GE Meters. The transaction is expected to close by the end of 2015. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
