EWG Releases Interactive PFAS Contamination Map
A new map created by the Environmental Working Group recently revealed that many water systems across the nation exceed proposed safety limits for PFAS.
The EWG map, updated through May 21, shows significant PFAS contamination in states including North Carolina, South Carolina, Alabama, and others, with almost every state affected to some degree. Read more about it here.
Funding Announced for Southern California Water Resilience
The U.S. Bureau of Reclamation recently announced $159 million in transformational investments for three large-scale water recycling projects in Southern California.
Leadership from the three recipients of this major Bipartisan Infrastructure Law funding — Metropolitan Water District, the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power, and the City of Ventura — joined lawmakers and administration officials for the announcement.
The funding was delivered by a new federal program aimed at investing in large-scale water recycling programs and innovative water reuse projects that strengthen drought resilience across the West. Read more here.
