Fluidized bed combined grit washing and dewatering produces the cleanest and driest grit of any technology on the market. Oldcastle’s Hydro GritCleanse is engineered by Hydro International to reduce downtime and the most difficult maintenance issues found in conventional fluidized bed grit systems. The shafted screw design reduces screw wear as in addition to wear on internal bars and liners. The pivoting trough allows the clarifier and auger trough to be separated without disassembling the entire system. External bearings simplify bearing maintenance and reduce contact with water and abrasives.
Capturing 95% of all grit particles 75 micron and larger when used with either a HeadCell or Grit King system, Hydro GritCleanse has a product with less than 5% volatile solids. Cleaner grit output has significantly reduced volume and water content, reducing odor and the volume and frequency of landfilling. With a capacity of up to 800 gpm the Hydro GritCleanse is the ideal solution for a wide range of treatment plant sizes.
