A Reference Point for Success

NASSCO’s Specification Guidelines are a valuable industry resource.

NASSCO’s mission to set standards for the assessment, maintenance and rehabilitation of underground infrastructure is accomplished, in part, by the provision of specification guidelines for a variety of trenchless technologies.

Provided as a service to our industry, these guidelines have been prepared by NASSCO and peer reviewed by committees consisting of suppliers, installers, engineers, and system owners to ensure accuracy and usability to help you do the best work possible.

Available online at www.nassco.org, visitors to the website can search for specific guidelines by technology or category, including:

  • Lateral renewal/repair.
  • Cured-in-place pipe (CIPP).
  • Grouting/joint sealing.
  • Manhole rehabilitation.
  • Fold and form/folded and reformed.
  • Pipe bursting.
  • Cleaning.
  • CCTV/inspection.
  • General guidelines.

The detailed documents within each category include information such as suggested project steps, mandatory prebid/preconstruction and project meetings, general and special provisions, execution of work, payment, and a variety of other resources and suggested action items.

Other NASSCO resources available online include manufacturer specifications provided directly by the supplier. While these specifications are not endorsed by NASSCO, visitors using these products and services appreciate the ability to quickly find these references on the NASSCO website.

It is our hope that you will use NASSCO Specification Guidelines as a reference point from which you will apply your own engineering judgment as project-specific details are considered. It is our intent to add to, but not replace, the valuable input from experienced engineers and contractors while assuring the continued advancement and growth of trenchless technologies.

NASSCO’s Specification Guidelines are available to the public at www.nassco.org/resources/guidelines-specs and are downloadable in PDF format. NASSCO members can also download the documents in Word format through their unique member login. For more information, please visit www.nassco.org.
