PEOPLE/AWARDS

The town of Milford (Connecticut) received a $25,000 grant through the state Department of Environmental Protection to create a restoration plan for a Charles River headwaters subwatershed.

The town of Bath (West Virginia) Streetscape Committee received a $42,000 grant from the Chesapeake Bay Trust to continue “green” stormwater management planning and beautification projects.

The city of Worcester Blackstone River Coalition received a $25,000 grant, funded by the Massachusetts Environmental Trust, to relaunch a campaign called Fishable/Swimmable Blackstone River Valley. The project takes a grassroots approach to tackling stormwater impacts with the goal of reducing phosphorus, improving aquatic habitat, and increasing recreational opportunities, specifically in the cold-water fishery resources in the Massachusetts reach of the watershed.

Adolfson & Peterson Construction received an Outstanding Safety Program Award, as well as a Silver Level STEP Award from the Associated Builders and Contractors Rocky Mountain Chapter. In addition, Adolfson & Peterson Construction was inducted into the Colorado Stormwater Excellence Program as a “participating member” by Associated General Contractors of Colorado.

William Lee joined the Hubbard County Soil and Water Conservation District (Minnesota) as a water-quality resource specialist.
