Grundfos and Baseform formalize strategic partnership

Grundfos and Baseform have formalized a strategic partnership to bring digital services to water utilities worldwide. Grundfos Utility Analytics, an AI, machine-learning utility management technology provided by Baseform, allows utilities to better plan their network renewal investments, actively manage water losses or infiltration and inflow, and optimize their energy usage while enhancing operational efficiency and effectiveness. The analytics offer will be served in a software as a service (SaaS) base to utilities, allowing an unlimited number of users and connecting to an unlimited number of data sources in the utility.

Barbco’s Barbera inducted into NASTT Hall of Fame

On March 30, Barbco founder James Barbera was posthumously inducted in the North American Society for Trenchless Technology Hall of Fame at the annual No-Dig Show in Orlando, Florida. Barbera was presented for induction by his wife, Frances, and their sons Anthony, David and James. 

The NASTT Hall of Fame honors members who have made outstanding accomplishments and exceptional contributions to the advance of the North American trenchless industry and NASTT. Winners of the accolade are former or current NASTT members who have been members for a minimum of 10 years and are age 50 or older.

CUWA names Broley as new executive director

California Urban Water Agencies named Brown and Caldwell’s Wendy Broley as its new executive director effective July 1, replacing Cindy Paulson after 10 years in the role. CUWA is a nonprofit corporation of 11 major urban water agencies responsible for serving drinking water to over two-thirds of California’s population.

Kurita Water Industries acquires Keytech Water Management

Kurita Water Industries completed its acquisition of Keytech Water Management through its North American subsidiaries in a stock purchase deal. Keytech, which is headquartered in Kitchener, Ontario, will operate as a 100% consolidated subsidiary of Kurita Canada. Douglas Halbert, former president and general manager of Keytech, will continue to lead the organization as general manager, under the leadership of LaMarr Barnes, CEO of Kurita America.

Mueller Water Products acquires i2O Water

Mueller Water Products has acquired i2O Water for approximately $20 million in cash. Founded in 2005, i2O Water is headquartered in Southampton, United Kingdom, with operations in Malaysia and Colombia. The company provides a range of intelligent water network solutions including advanced pressure management, network analytics, event management, data logging and the iNet software suite.

Perma-Liner expands portfolio to include RIDGID

Waterline Renewal Technologies, a portfolio company of Behrman Capital, announced Perma-Liner Industries as an official North American stocking distributor of RIDGID. New diagnostics and heavy-duty drain cleaning tools from RIDGID enhance the company’s trenchless rehabilitation product offerings.

IPT welcomes Dennis Persaud as VP of operations

Internal Pipe Technologies appointed Dennis Persaud as vice president of operations. He will oversee the manufacturing operations at the IPT plant in Texas. With 13 years’ experience in the CIPP lining industry, his last position was director of manufacturing, quality and compliance at Aquam Corp.

McElroy adds new distributor in Northeast

McElroy named F.W. Webb Co. as its newest distributor to serve pipe fusion machine customers along the East Coast. The company has several locations and its Springfield, Massachusetts, location will serve as the main hub for McElroy machine sales.

Felling Trailers acquires Larson Cable Trailers

Felling Trailers acquired the assets of Huron, South Dakota-based Larson Cable Trailers, a manufacturer of fiber optic cable handling trailer products. Felling Trailers has retained all Larson Cable Trailers’ employees and will continue operations in Huron. Larson Cable Trailers will operate as Larson Cable Trailers, Inc., a separate division of Felling Trailers. With the acquisition, Felling named Larson’s original owner and founder Rick Larson as product manager.
