Sewer Equipment Names New President

John Wichmann takes over for former president Dan O’Brien

Sewer Equipment has announced the appointment of John Wichmann, vice president of operations, as the company’s new president effective immediately.

Wichmann graduated from the University of Illinois in 1983 with a bachelor’s in mechanical engineering, and in 1998 completed his MBA at the University of Detroit Mercy. He has held positions in multiple disciplines including engineering, sales, operations and general managing.

Wichmann started with Sewer Equipment in 2002. During his career at Sewer Equipment, he has held the title of plant manager and vice president of operations, where he has applied his 35 years' industry experience to grow Sewer Equipment into the major player it is today. Wichmann has been responsible for enhancing and expanding Sewer Equipment’s entire product offering, entering new markets and distribution channels, as well as a plant relocation to the company’s state-of-the-art facility in Dixon, Illinois.

According to a company press release, Wichmann’s past experience and accomplishments coupled with his extensive industry knowledge made him the obvious candidate to take over for Dan O’Brien, the company’s past president. O’Brien will continue to stay involved as the company’s owner.

Sewer Equipment, formerly Sewer Equipment Co. of America, has been in equipment manufacturing since 1941 and currently operates the brands of Mongoose Jetters, Sewer Equipment Co. of America and RAMVAC Vacuum Excavators as a third-generation family-owned company.
