We’ve seen some stories recently about changes in the way customers are using water during the COVID-19 pandemic — like this story out of Madison, Wisconsin — and decided to conduct a short survey among our readers for use in a future article on mswmag.com.

• How many gallons per day is your utility treating on average right now compared to last year? Is this figure for drinking water or wastewater?

• At what times of day and week are you seeing the most water use or seeing spikes in wastewater flow? How is this different from last year?

• Using a percentage or dollar amounts, how much has your utility’s revenue stream changed since last year as a result of COVID-19 measures like the elimination of water shutoffs for nonpayment, increased late payments or reduction in nonresidential water demands?

• How many water/wastewater employees does your department have right now compared to last year?
