The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency recently announced the launch of a new website, the Climate Resilience and Adaptation Funding Toolbox. CRAFT is a user-friendly resource for technical assistance providers working with federal funding applicants and recipients to develop, apply for and implement climate-resilient investments.

The website provides simple, easy-to-understand resources, which can help users consider climate adaptation and resilience before, during and after applying for EPA funding opportunities.

West Hollywood Main Break Sends Geyser Into the Air

A water main break in West Hollywood recently sent a geyser several stories high into the air. The incident prompted a statement from the Los Angeles Sheriff’s Station advising commuters to avoid the area.

LADWP and Southern California Gas responded to the scene, while local officials and ambassadors directed traffic away from the affected area.

Ruptured Pipe Causes Large Spill in Florida

A 4.5 million-gallon wastewater spill recently occurred in an unincorporated Pinellas County neighborhood, flooding streets and homes. This marks the third time in recent years that the aging sewer pipe running through the area has burst.

The latest spill, caused by a crack in a 24-inch sewer line, affected several homes, with one house experiencing sewage flooding its garage. County crews managed to contain the spill after five hours, and vacuum trucks collected hundreds of thousands of gallons of wastewater in the cleanup efforts.
