Problem: Brewer Water Department in Maine faced a significant challenge in complying with the EPA’s Lead and Copper Rule Revisions. Serving 9,000 residents through 3,500 service connections, they needed to verify materials for thousands of service lines, many installed decades ago with incomplete records. Solution: The department invested in a Vermeer VXT300 truck vacuum excavator to efficiently complete their service line inventory. Built on a Kenworth T880 chassis, the unit features an 8-cubic-yard spoil tank, 6-inch dig tube and an 800-gallon water capacity.
