Sewer Equipment celebrates 82 years

Dixon, Illinois-based Sewer Equipment is celebrating 82 years of business this year. The company began in 1941 in a garage in Park Ridge, Illinois, with a simple idea of a tool to unclog kitchen sinks. In the 1970s, the second generation of O’Briens developed several machines in Chadwick, Illinois. The company has continued to evolve, developing safe, simple and reliable solutions for municipalities, plumbers and industrial contractors. Last June, Sewer Equipment manufactured its 10,000th unit, a Sewer Equipment Co. of America Model 900 ECO combination sewer cleaner truck, a production milestone highlight.


Naomi Park wins Stockholm Junior Water Prize 2023

Naomi Park from the United States received the Stockholm Junior Water Prize 2023 for her research on the removal of carbon dioxide and oil products from the ocean. The Stockholm Junior Water Prize is an international competition where students between the ages of 15 and 20 present solutions to major water challenges. The award has been organized since 1997 by the Stockholm International Water Institute, with Xylem as founding partner.


Carollo Engineers opens new Fort Myers office

Carollo Engineers opened a new office in Fort Myers, Florida, to better serve municipal and private sector clients in the region. Located at 9160 Forum Corporate Parkway, this location marks the firm’s eighth office in the state. Carollo opened its first Florida office in 2001. 


NACD names CITCO Water as winner of Excellence Award

The National Association of Chemical Distributors announced the winner of the 2023 NACD Responsible Distribution Excellence Award CITCO Water. This award is presented to companies that demonstrate continuous improvement and a sustained and rigorous commitment to Responsible Distribution, NACD’s mandatory, third-party verified environmental, health, safety, and security program. Headquartered in Huntington, West Virginia, CITCO Water serves the water and wastewater industry across West Virginia, Kentucky, Tennessee, Pennsylvania, Virginia and Ohio.


Gator Drain Tools named HammerHead Trenchless distributor

Gator Drain Tools entered into a distributor agreement with HammerHead Trenchless. Based in Abilene, Texas, Gator Drain Tools’ equipment portfolio will now include lateral pipe bursting systems, lead pipe replacement equipment and hydraulic power units.


Vermeer looks to future after 75 years in business

From its home base in Pella, Iowa, Vermeer looks forward to the future after 75 years in business. Founded in 1948 by Gary Vermeer, the company now has over 4,000 employees worldwide and operates eight facilities on six continents. Vermeer also offers service and support in more than 60 countries, and its equipment is distributed through a global network of more than 600 industrial and forage dealers.
