Avanti’s VP of operations retires

After 25 years working at Avanti International, Vice President of Operations Frank Aguilar retired in December. He began his career at Avanti in June 1999, and over the years he held a variety of roles, including inside sales, regional sales manager, technical product manager and vice president of customer service. Throughout his tenure, Aguilar played a key role as a member of Avanti’s leadership team, contributing to the achievement of strategic operational objectives and day-to-day business operations. He also provided essential guidance and support, ensuring that customers receive the highest level of product performance and service. Prior to Avanti, Aguilar worked in the petroleum industry for 20 years with worldwide assignments in 58 different countries.

AqueoUS Vets awarded contract for Minnesota treatment plant project

AqueoUS Vets has been awarded the contract for the city of Woodbury, Minnesota’s new water treatment plant project. Once complete, the facility will remove PFAS from groundwater wells used to supply drinking water to the city. The project includes the installation of 17 miles of underground pipeline, connecting Woodbury’s 20 wells to a centralized treatment plant. The plant is expected to be fully operational by 2028. Currently, nine of the city’s wells are being treated at a temporary water treatment plant and three additional interim treatment facilities at various well sites.


PipeLogix Partners with PipeAId

PipeLogix announced a strategic, long-term partnership with PipeAId, a provider of AI-powered solutions engineered to automate and improve condition assessment. The agreement and integration will enable users of the PipeLogix Phoenix software to automate the recognition and coding of sewer and stormwater system defects and features within their existing workflow, resulting in greater data accuracy and operational efficiency.


PPI publishes new ASTM F3722 standard

The Plastics Pipe Institute has published the new ASTM F3722 Standard Practice for Heat Fusion Joining of Polypropylene (PP) Pipe and Fittings by ASTM International. PPI building and construction division members and the ASTM F17 technical committee during several years and developed the new standard practice based on industry best practices and consensus of the contributing members. ASTM F3722-24 describes procedures for making joints with pressure-rated polypropylene pipes, fittings and valves by butt fusion, socket fusion, sidewall outlet fusion or electrofusion methods, with a separate section dedicated to each type of fusion. The fusion practices are applicable for both factory and field environments.

Franklin Electric appoints Mike Pimentel to senior management

Franklin Electric appointed Mike Pimentel to the role of senior business unit manager for industrial and engineered systems. Pimentel will set the strategic vision for the segment, leading all commercial activities and supporting the needs and growth of Franklin Electric’s customers. Pimentel has worked in the pumping and irrigation industries throughout most of his 25-year career. He joins Franklin Electric after serving in various sales and management roles at Mitchell, Lewis and Staver, where he led teams across the company’s industrial, commercial and residential markets.

Daniel Mosher promoted to GMC South Carolina water practice leader

Goodwyn Mills Cawood promoted engineer Daniel Mosher to South Carolina water practice leader. In this role, Mosher will be responsible for leading and developing design teams focused on water and wastewater projects, in addition to building and maintaining client relationships. Mosher has nearly a decade of experience in water resources engineering, with a strong background working with water and wastewater utilities across the state. Along with a thorough understanding of water resources and site development concepts, he also has extensive expertise coordinating with clients, permitting agencies and contractors to facilitate an efficient and high-quality design and construction process.
