Superior Signal smoke testing systems reduce wet-weather peak flows

Superior Signal’s smoke testing systems help reduce wet-weather SSOs and surface inflow. Superior’s smoke candles, fluid and smoke blowers are designed to test sanitary sewers quickly, efficiently and economically. The smoke blowers can be used with smoke candles or fluid to detect common sources of surface inflow and other faults. Classic smoke candles provide highly visible smoke to find more faults at a longer distance. The Superior 3C Classic smoke candle produces a volume of 40,000 cubic feet of smoke in just three minutes. Join multiple W3C smoke candles to create larger volumes of smoke visible for a longer time. Superior’s smoke fluid systems offer a liquid-based alternative for mainline sewer inspection and feature an insulated heating chamber with a stainless steel injector to maximize dry smoke output. Since 1961, Super Signal’s cost-effective methods have found sources of leaks and odors. Superior’s smoke products are made in the U.S., meet WEF and NASSCO standards and are widely used in tests to meet EPA, ASHRAE, OSHA and NFPA standards. 732-251-0800; www.superiorsignal.com/mss

Krohne va flowmeters

KROHNE VA flowmeter technology

KROHNE’s latest developments in VA flowmeter technology include SIL 2 compliance for safety instrumented systems, enabling use in critical applications such as nitrogen inerting for explosion protection. The company’s portfolio of SIL-certified VA meters is specifically designed to monitor minimum and maximum flow rates and initiate shutdowns in hazardous environments. Notably, 92% of these devices are deployed in Class I, Division 1 hazardous areas. To further enhance process reliability, KROHNE has introduced continuous float monitoring diagnostics in its VA flowmeters. 800-356-9464; www.us.krohne.com

Sensaphone sentry 1

Sensaphone Sentry remote monitoring system

The Sensaphone Sentry remote monitoring system is an ideal replacement for traditional landline-based auto dialer devices. The system uses cellular and cloud technology for a supervised internet connection that assures the device is online and monitoring conditions at all times. It can support up to five external sensors to monitor parameters such as humidity, power outage, water detection and temperature with a sensing range of minus 109 to 115 degrees F. When the Sensaphone Sentry system detects an issue, it instantly sends alerts via phone, text or email over standard cellular networks. This proactive notification enables operators to quickly evaluate potential issues before they escalate into disruptive and costly malfunctions, helping to keep facilities, equipment and inventory safe from damage. 855-807-1887; www.sensaphone.com

Mueller 60in rwgv

Mueller resilient wedge gate valve

The 60- and 66-inch Mueller resilient wedge gate valves offer reduced operating torque and superior resistance to wear and tear that can reduce performance. With extra-long, bronze wedge guides, the gate slides easily within body channels, supporting and maintaining alignment of the wedge for smooth operation. The specially shaped rubber along the bottom edge of the wedge takes advantage of line pressure to augment the torque on the stem and ensure a leak-tight seal. This avoids crushing the rubber and reduces stress on the stem. When installed horizontally there is no need for rollers, tracks or scrapers. The valve meets or exceeds all applicable requirements of ANSI/AWWA C515 Standard and certified to NSF/ANSI/CAN 61 and/or 372. 470-378-7659; www.muellerwp.com

Sensoray 2218

Sensoray Model 2218 sensor interface

Sensoray’s model 2218 is a USB eight-channel sensor interface. Each channel can be independently configured to read voltage, thermocouples or resistive devices such as thermistors, RTDs or strain gauges. Eight channels of general purpose I/0 are available for digital control and monitoring. Each analog channel is sampled up to five times per second. A voltage-to-frequency converter is used to increase resolution at lower values where it is needed most. Adjustments for nonlinearity are made on board according to the selected sensor type. On-board hardware is used as reference standards for periodic recalibration to maintain high accuracy without interrupting data capture. Four wire connections are available for all eight channels. The USB connection supplies needed power and an auxiliary 5-volt jack is available for use with high current sensors. Alarms can be set to trigger when monitored values fall outside user-defined parameters. 503-684-8005; www.sensoray.com
