Sonia Brubaker was hired as chief resilience officer for the city of Miami. She will lead the city’s new Department of Resilience and Sustainability. Brubaker previously served as the director of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s Water Infrastructure and Resiliency Finance Center.

Bill Prokop, city manager for the city of Beaufort (South Carolina), announced his retirement effective January 2023. Prokop has led numerous city initiatives, including systemic prioritizing of stormwater drainage projects, most notably the Mossy Oaks Stormwater Project and The Point & Downtown Stormwater Project.

The city of Prince George, British Columbia,  received an honorable mention from the Union of BC Municipalities for its Integrated Stormwater Management Plan.
